Today ,we are going to talk about iPhone 5S recharge errors. As we know , the iPhone 5S is very old version for Apple, so it's not surprising that it has a charge error, when you are facing iPhone 5S won't charge, abnormal charge status, can't be identified, or other error, it's very important to know how to troubleshoot it.

Before we are going to fix it, we need to prepare some phone repair tools we needed.

1. WUXINJI Dongle

2. phone opening tools

3. digital multimeter

4. jumper wire

5. tweezers

6. hot air rework station

Now, we are going to fix it.

Open the WUXINJI Dongle to check iPhone 5S schematic diagram, so we can know that the charge voltage PP5V0_USB_PROT first passes through Q2, then to U2, and then to the iPhone power supply IC--U7, we can measure the voltage of 5V to U2 by Fluke 15B+ Digital Multimeter at point C272, and the 5V voltage can be measured at point C304.

Now, disassemble the iPhone, and then test it with digital multimeter, it 5V can't be measured at C304 and C372 points, which means that Q2 is damaged. In this case, we need to short connect Q2.

If one has 5V and the other not, which means there is a disconnection. In this case, we will use QUICK 861DW hot air rework station to solder a jump wire from C304 to C272.

If both C304 and C372 has 5V voltage, then we need to check if the iPhone USB charge IC is damaged, if it is damaged, we need to replace it.

Finally, install the iPhone and then recharge it to test, now the iPhone 5S charge function is normal.
